It’s a stick, has 100k miles, decent maintenance history, black/black/black. It was last running 6 months ago, and it needs something realated to the clutch because the pedal goes to the floor and won’t come back up. Also needs tires, a new top, and probably new seats if it’s going to get sold. The #JDMtyte,yo BBS wheels look really neat, and from what I can find about these cars, they’re original. Going to be tackling the project with my friend Mike over the winter along with any other friends who want to lend a hand, however they will probably just come to watch us swear at the car while hitting it with a hammer and emptying can after can of PB blaster on various interior trim pieces in an effort to remove the battery, which is “duh, under the seat, the forums said so bro, because racecar”
What do you oppos think? #JDMtyteyo?
Below: It didn’t stay like that for the ride home, we tied it down properly.
Going to be following tvarish’s “Art of the Flip” series for the partial resto of this car, particularly his RX-7 article. There will probably be an AOTF-esque post sometime this spring, or maybe as early as late this winter, with a full breakdown of costs, difficulties, etc.
Wish me luck! Not with the car though, with my parents, because they’re ready to kill me with the amount of cars I have in various states of dis repair (five or six, I think)

Sounds like the clutch Master cylinder went out. Do the Master, Slave, and the clutch disc and pressure plate and throwout bearing and you should be good to go.
Looks like a good score, have fun with it.

Yeahhh the bro-truck’s my friend Jason’s, I didn’t feel comfortable towing it with my caddy, because it doesn’t have trailer brakes. I’ve been meaning to do an oppo review of his truck, making many, many comparisons to the crimson chin... LOOK AT THAT HIDEOUS BUMPER

Love the interceptor.
But yeah, no offense to your friend, that truck screams “douche”.
Okay I guess I don’t realistically see how that could be taken as anything but offensive. Sorry.

Yeah we all bust his balls about it a little bit, but it’s his idea of a middle finger to the even bigger douches at our school whose parents went out and bought them a CPO, or new in some cases; BMW, Audi, or Mercedes, and flaunt them, when he worked his ass off for three years to buy his truck, and pays for everything himself.

I guess I shouldn’t talk too much, some of my friends probably fall under that camp. Hell, I have a friend whose parents bought him this for his 16th bday. Yes, that’s kevlar paint.

I would definitely be hesitant to buy an rx7 that doesn’t run. Apex seals aren’t exactly cheap. Props for being braver than me, and I hope the clutch is your only problem!

As far as I know FC convertibles are fairly rare. Cool car.

I love these cars. I remember driving my parents’s red one to prom (Btw, not completely unrelated, the seats have the cool feature of reclining almost all the way flat). You’re doing the angel’s work restoring it.

Well, it’ll be put up for first dibs & special oppo pricing here, before it goes on Craigslist, ebay, or wherever it’s advertised, so you at least know where one RX-7 “like that” exists. I WISH I had the time, and money to do an LS swap, I really do. However, this one’s just gonna be an in and out flip because I need money for my GSX project, which I’m trying to have finished by the time spring rallycross rolls around.

My GSX is a 1992, 5-speed car, red/gray cloth. Also, not sure where in the US you are, but I’m in CT. If you’d be interested in some more pics of the car, my email is john.footeschool@gmail.com
